Grand Valley (Sports Team/Letter) Nails

IMG_20160829_211829

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

IMG_2677.JPG

Apply a background color of your choice (I went off of a T-shirt with all the school colors), I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure “White Out.”

IMG_2681.JPG

With another two colors of your choice and a striping brush, outline the nail around the cuticle area and the edges of the nail. I used Winstonia’s “Short” striping brush and Apple Barrel’s “Black” and “Cobalt Blue” acrylic paint.

For the accent nail with the team letters, paint the shapes using the center color of the letters and a detail brush. I used Red Carpet’s “Detail Brush” and the same blue color as before.

IMG_2693.JPG

Do a thick outline of these letters using another color (for me the same black) and the same detail brush.

IMG_2695.JPG

Make a thin outline around the inner color (blue) using a thin detail brush and another color. I used Winstonia’s “Berry Wine” brush and Apple Barrel’s “White” acrylic paint.

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”

Cubic Nails | No Tools!

IMG_20160822_201250

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

IMG_2653

Paint the entire nail with a base color of your choice. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails “Hard Bitten.”

IMG_2655

With another color of your choice, paint one half of the nail vertically. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails “Heart of Stone.” Don’t worry about the opacity now, we can fix that later.

IMG_2657

With the third color of your choice, paint one half of half of the nail.. if that makes sense.. After doing that you can fix the opacity of the other half (the pink color for me). I painted the top half of the pink section with Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails “No Hard Feelings.”

IMG_2659

With yet another color of your choice, paint half of the other half of the nails (for me half of the blue half and directly next to the purple. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear “White On.”

IMG_2661

*If necessary, you can touch up any lines with the polish colors and a toothpick or striping brush*

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”

Chevron Nails

IMG_20160814_201347

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

IMG_2622

Paint your nails with a base color of your choice, I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure “White Out.”

IMG_2624

Place dots on the nail to sketch the chevron shape using a striping brush and another color of your choice. I used Winstonia’s “Short” striping brush and Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails “Heart of Stone.”

IMG_2627

Then, connect the dots with the same tools.

IMG_2628

Repeat the past two steps slightly above the last line and then fill in the space between them.

IMG_2629IMG_2630

Repeat this process higher up on the nail to create another chevron shape.

IMG_2631IMG_2632IMG_2633

Outline all the pink chevron shapes with the same striping brush and another color of your choice. I used Essie’s “jiggle hi, jiggle lo.”

IMG_2637

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”
