Ciate Mani Markers | First Impressions, Swathes, Review

*UPDATE*

After wearing this polish for just ONE DAY it started to peel. I noticed when I first began wearing it that it looked a little funny but it began to look worse and worse and more streaky over time. It started to peel of in large amounts (which I have never had happen before). I do not think these Mani Markers are worth their price of $12 each. If you want to use the markers to paint your nail quickly and just for the night then I think they are great but not for long wear, my nail art didn’t even last a day!

Pros:

  • Quick and easy to apply
  • Fast drying
  • Opaque in one coat
  • Variety of colors

Cons:

  • Can be very streaky
  • Very thin coats
  • Can’t cap the free edge

Paw Print Nails

img_20160919_153656

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

img_2770

Apply a background color of your choice, I used NYX’s “Bare My Soul.”

img_2772

Using a small dotting tool and another color of your choice place two dots right next to each other on the nail. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in “Black Out.”

img_2775

Finish the center of the paw print making that shape into a rounded heart like shape.

img_2776

Add a small dot at the tip of the area just rounded off and then two more dots (one on each side.)

img_2777

Finish off the pattern by adding more all over the nail and even have some going off of the nail.

img_2778

Lastly, add a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”

3D Dot Nails

img_20160911_162455

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

img_2745

Choose two colors of your choice (a lighter and darker shade). Apply the lighter shade as the base color. I used a Simple Pleasures mini nail polish with no name.

img_2747

Using a small dotting tool and the darker shade, place dots all over the nail. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails “No Hard Feelings.”

img_2749img_2750img_2751img_2752

With the same dotting tool and a white nail polish place dots over the purple dots but off center so that it is not all covered. I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “White Out.”

img_2755img_2756

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”

Cactus Nails

IMG_20160905_175825

Start off with a base coat, I used Revlon’s “Quick Dry Base Coat.”

IMG_2707

Apply a base color of your choice, I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “Almost Almond.”

IMG_2709

Using a detail brush and a green color, start to paint the cactus shape. I did this by painting a small line going vertically on the nail and then creating two “L” shapes on each side of that line. I made these shapes all over the nail and even had some going off of the nail to give it more of a patterned look. I used Red Carpet’s “Detail Brush” and a Sally Girl mini nail polish with no name.

IMG_2712IMG_2713IMG_2714IMG_2715IMG_2716

Using a thinner brush and a darker green or black color, give the cactus more detail by adding small dashes and lines as the spikes all over the cactus. I used Winstonia’s “Berry Wine” brush and MAC’s “Before Dawn.”

IMG_2718

Add small flowers on every other cactus by using a color of your choice and a very small dotting tool. I used Sinful Color’s “Soul Mate.”

IMG_2720

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Revlon’s “Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.”
