Holiday/Christmas Leaf Nails

Start off with a base coat, I used Seche Clear’s “Crystal Clear Base Coat.”

Choose some Christmas/holiday colors and apply one as a base color. I used MAC’s “Before Dawn.”

With another color of your choice, paint a vertical line down the center of the nail. I used Essie’s “Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo” and Winstonia’s “Short” striper brush.

With the same tools, paint three slanted horizontal lines one each side of the vertical line.

With the last color of your choice, fill in every other space. I used OPI’s “OPI Red” and Red Carpet’s “Detail Brush.”

To clean up the design, paint back over the dividing lines and clean up around the nails with a nail polish remover pen.

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Seche Vite’s “Fast Dry Top Coat.”

Thanksgiving/Turkey Nails

Start off with a base coat, I used Seche Clear’s “Crystal Clear Base Coat.”

Apply a base color of your choice, I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “White Out.”

To create the turkey, use a brown color and a detail brush to make a snow man type shape on the nail. I used Winstonia’s “Fine Line” brush and Delta Ceramcoat’s “Spice Brown.”

Next, add some fall colored feathers around the turkeys body and head with a thin detail brush. I did these similar to the shape of leaves. I used Winstonia’s “Berry Wine” Brush, Finger Paints’ “Tangerine Tint”, Maybelline’s “Fierce N Tangy” and Nina’s no name.

Give the turkey some eyes using a small dotting tool, the same white polish as the base (if you used a white base) and a black polish. I used Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in “Black Out.”

Add a beak with the same orange color used for the feathers and the thin detail brush. This is an upside down triangle placed right below the eyes of the turkey.

For the next design, I simply made wisped lines coming down from the cuticles of the nails using all the same fall colors used for the feathers plus Essie’s “Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo” and Winstonia’s “Short” striper brush.

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Seche Vite’s “Dry Fast Top Coat.”

Fall Leaf/Feather Nails

Start off with a base coat, I used Seche Clear’s “Crystal Clear Base Coat.”

I changed the colors after the first two steps of this design so the colors will change but pick a few fall colors of your choice and apply one as a base color. In this picture I used MAC’s “Before Dawn.”

With a striper brush and the color for the lines paint a vertical line down the middle of the nail. I used Winstonia’s “Short” Striper brush and at this time I used Essie’s “Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo.” This is just a rough outline as it will mostly likely get messed up when filling in colors.

With the same tools, add three slanted lines on both sides of the vertical line.

Then, fill in each gap with by alternating your fall colors. I used Red Carpet’s “Detail Brush”, Essie’s “Very Structured”, Finger Paints’ “Tangerine Tint” and Apple Barrel’s “Yellow”acrylic paint.

Go back over your lines/outline with the same striper brush and color (if you stuck to the same one). I used Sinful Color’s “Rich in Heart.”

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Seche Vite’s “Dry Fast Top Coat.”

Fall Tree Nails

Start off with a base coat, I used Seche Clear’s “Crystal Clear Base Coat.”

Apply a base color of your choice, I applied a white nail polish and then a sheer cream polish for my base. I used Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in “White Out” and Essie’s “Walk Down the Aisle.” The white polish was just to make the sheer cream polish more opaque.

Next, use a small piece of a makeup sponge held with tweezers or your fingers and dip it in a fall color to make the tree leaves (I chose yellow and orange). Then, simply sponge the polish in a circular shape on the nail. I used Maybelline’s “Fierce N Tangy” and Finger Paints’ “Tangerine Tint.”

Repeat this process until you are satisfied with the leaves.

For the tree trunk and branches use a brown polish or acrylic paint and a detail brush. Paint the trunk by creating two curved lines that are wider towards the tip of the nail and fill it in. I used Delta Ceramcoat’s “Autumn Brown” acrylic paint and Winstonia’s “Berry Wine” brush.

Then create thin squiggly lines coming from the trunk and then coming from those lines to create branches using the same tools.

Lastly, apply a top coat, I used Seche Vite’s “Dry Fast Top Coat.”
